Niushou Mountain --- A Chinese Buddhist Culture Journey

The scenery of Niushou Mountain is beautiful and pleasant, and is called the “Spring Niushou”. The most eye catching sight was the enormous dome – the Buddha Palace.

You have to first walk down a passageway that passes through the mountain to enter the Buddha Palace. The international friends walked forward and saw the painted stories of the eight incarnations of the Buddha, marvels of earth and fire, and the sight of thousands of Buddhist shrines, cups, and lights. It was truly one spectacular sight after another.

The inside of the Buddha Palace with its dazzling exterior was even more of a shock after walking further along in the passageway! Layers upon layers of decorative white lotus patterns formed a huge half circle shaped dome that was like a bird’s nest on top of a gray palacewall. The dome was over 200 meters in diameter and a grand sight to be hold. The experience of the lights and smoke arising forth from the polished man-made stone walls was like being in the presence of the Buddha.

A 7.5 meter long statue of Gautama Buddha was at the center of the dome and surrounding it was a huge lotus flower stage. The statue lies serenely on its side with one hand supporting its head, and rotates as if watching all living things.

The foreign visitors at the event were all amazed at this grandiose sight, and were so shocked that they were at a loss for words! Erin from America said:Had it not been for map club, I may have missed Niushou.

The Buddha Palace is not only blend of modern architecture and Buddhist culture, and an unique and splendid art palace, but is even more a tourist attraction that promotes and reveals China’sillustrious culture. Map club will take you along to experience the charm of ever more culture and scenery. Stay tuned!
