Xuzhou


Xuzhou is the first stop along the Grand Canal in Jiangsu Province. It is a city with more than 5,000 years of history. Since ancient times, due to its geological location, the city has been a business hub and also a town of military importance. As the origin of “Han” Chinese culture, the city offers the tourist a rich cultural heritage and a number of wonderful historical sites, often dubbed as the Athens of the East”.


     


The relics of Han Dynasty in Xuzhou include the Mausoleum of the Han Emperors, the corridor of stone engravings, the museum of the Han Dynasty Terracotta Army. In addition, Yaowan ancient town, which sits at the intersection of the canal and Luoma Lake, was an important port during the Dynasty of Qing and Ming, and stands as an example of the canal culture.

Airport

Xuzhou Guanyin Airport is a large airport with excellent facilities in the Huaihai Economic Zone. There are flights to Taipei, Hongkong, Bangkok, Seoul, Kaohsiung, Jeju Island, Osaka, Nagoya as well as other flights.


Train:

Xuzhou is the second largest railway hub in China, The Beijing-Shanghai railway and the Longhai railway route both intersect here making Xuzhou an important crossroads for east-west and North-South economic ties.

Xuzhou station is one of the seven main stations across the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway system and the starting point for the Xuzhou to Lanzhou High-Speed Rail link. At present, Xuzhou has rail links to over 180 cities and is ranked fourth in China. 


Bus:

Xuzhou is a national highway hub with seven major highway links forming a 460 kilometers network. All counties and cities are connected by the highway, with such transport links available it has facilitated the formation of major cities around the county which are served by the highway network.
